Dehumidifiers Electricity Cost Calculator
Dehumidifiers are rated in Watts (W) or Kilowatts (kW). Look for the energy rating on your dehumidifier (usually displayed on the back of machine) then use our energy calculator to see how much it will cost to run per hour, day or week.

Are dehumidifiers energy efficient?
Most dehumidifiers use refrigerated coils to extract water from the air by condensing excess moisture onto the coils, as they are very cold.
What may improve energy efficiency is having a Hydrophilic coating on the coils, this makes water run off more rapidly, making the water extraction and collection process faster within the dehumidifier. Closing windows and external doors, when using your dehumidifier, will help efficiency.
Features such as automatic shut-off's, timers and smart controllers may reduce energy consumption.
