Microgeneration is the production of energy on the smallest of scales, for individual buildings, communities and businesses. The technologies include:

These technologies will allow consumers to generate their own heat and/or electricity, helping to reduce carbon emissions. Don’t forget that grants are available from the DTI's (Department of Trade & Industry) Low Carbon buildings programme which provides grants for micro-generation technologies for householders, community organisations, schools, the public sector and businesses. The programme is managed by the Energy Saving Trust.
